Oder ist es das? … Or is it?

Erst einmal was Lustiges. Wir wunderten uns schon, warum auf dem Parkplatz nicht sehr viele Autos waren, wurden dann aber schlauer, als wir die „Blockade“ sahen. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es nämlich keine Einfahrt, Autos müssten sich also um die Schafe herumschlängeln. Das hat sich niemand getraut. Selbst Radfahrer hatten Hemmungen. 😉

… First something funny. We had wondered, why there were so few cars on the parking lot, but soon learned why when we saw the „obstacle“. There isn’t any access from the other side, so cars would have to squeeze past the sheep. Nobody had dared. Even cyclists had scruples. 😉

Wir sind schon oft in diesem Tal gewesen, denn es ist einer unser Lieblingsspaziergänge. Als wir dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal dorthin kamen, im Juli, hatten die Naturschützer zugeschlagen und Schilder aufgestellt.

… We have been quite often in that valley, as it is one of our favourite walks. When we went there for the first time this year, in July, the conservationists had been there and set up signboards.

Radfahren oder nicht Radfahren, das ist die Frage …

… To bicycle or not to bicycle, that is the question …

Das nächste Schild belehrt uns allerdings, dass hier Radfahren verboten ist. Die Angaben zum Reiten finde ich noch verwirrender. Vielleicht sollen die Reiter nach rechts abbiegen und auf der Wiese entlanggehen.

… The next sign informs us, however, that bicycling is prohibited here. The information on horseback riding I find even more confusing. Maybe the riders are supposed to turn right and walk on the grass.

Dann die Warnung, dass sich Tiere auf dem Gelände befinden und man deshalb das Gatter hinter sich zumachen soll.

… Then the warning that there are animals on the area, and one should, therefore, close the gate behind oneself.

Und dann noch eine Gebrauchsanweisung für die Tiere.

… And then an instruction manual for the animals.

Wenn man das alles durchgelesen hat, kann man endlich mit dem Spaziergang beginnen. Was mich am meisten wundert ist, dass es anscheinend nötig ist, alle diese Schilder aufzustellen. Der Weg über den Bach ist etwas bequemer geworden, siehe unten im Vergleich zu 2018.

… When one has read all that, one can finally start the walk. What surprises me most is that it seems to be necessary to put all these signs up. The path across the brook has become more comfortable, see below a comparison to 2018.

Dieser Weg ist so vielseitig. Man geht über Grasland, durch Wald, an einem See entlang, an Kornfeldern vorbei; es wird nie langweilig.

… This path is so varied. One walks over grassland, through woods, along a lake, past cornfields/grainfields; it is never boring.

Danach geht es durch einen meiner Lieblingswälder mit sehr alten Bäumen zurück. Einige sind leider den letzten Stürmen zum Opfer gefallen.

… Afterwards we walk back through one of my favourite woods with very old trees. Some of them have unfortunately been felled or broken by the last storms.

Zum Abschluss habe ich noch zwei kleine Videos für euch; eines von der Quelle, damit ihr seht, dass da tatsächlich Wasser hochkommt, und eines vom Bach, weil da zwei Kajaks „um die Ecke“ kamen. Habt ein schönes Wochenende!

Mein Mann hat die Lösung für die Fahrradfrage gefunden: Im Prinzip geht Fahrradweg Nr. 3 durch das Gatter und auf dem Wanderweg entlang, aber Fahrradfahren ist verboten, ergo muss man schieben. 😀 😀 😀

… My husband found the solution for the bicycle question: In principle, bicycle path no. 3 is following the hiking path through the gate, however, cycling is prohibited, therefore one has to push the bicycle. 😀 😀 😀
