Æbelø und Hasmark auf Fünen … Æbelø and Hasmark on Fyn

Wie ich bereits berichtet habe, hatten wir zwei volle Tage auf Fünen, einen sonnigen, den wir in und um Schloss Egeskov verbracht haben, und einen gemischten, den wir für eine Rundtour im Auto benutzt haben. An dem Tag fuhren wir zu drei interessanten Orten: Æbelø, eine kleine Naturschutzinsel, zu der man bei Niedrigwasser hinüberwaten kann; Bogense, über das ich schon berichtet habe, sowie Hasmark, ein kleiner Badeort, wo mein Mann mir etwas zeigen wollte.

… As I already mentioned, we had two full days on Fyn, a sunny one, which be spent in and around Egeskov castle, and a mixed weather one, which we used for a tour with the car. That day we went to see three interesting locations: Æbelø, a little nature protected island, to which one can wade during low tide; Bogense town, about which I have already written, and then Hasmark, a little beach resort, where my husband wanted to show me something.


Æbelø ist, wie gesagt, ein Naturschutzgebiet, dass man unter Beachtung von Gezeiten und Regeln zum Schutz der Natur betreten darf. Der Weg zur Insel ist mit Stäben markiert, denen man am besten folgen sollte. Man geht 1,5 km im Wasser, kommt dann an eine Art kleine Vorinsel und geht von dort über eine Art Damm zur eigentlichen Insel (siehe Karte oben). Mit Rundgang auf der Insel, ist die Wanderung 15 km lang. Wir waren unvorbereitet, da wir nicht richtig wussten, was uns dort erwartet, und werden diese Wanderung im nächsten Sommer machen. Würde ich jedenfalls gerne.

… As mentioned, Æbelø is a nature reserve island, which one is allowed to visit while taking into account the tides and the rules for the protection of wildlife. The path to the island is marked with staffs, and I would recommend to follow them. The walk through the water is about 1 mile, which leads to a kind of pre-island, and from there over a kind of dam to the main island (see map above). If you add a round tour of the island, you will walk about 10 miles. We came unprepared, as we did not really know, what to expect. I would like to do this walk next summer and hope it will happen.

Es waren einige Leute am Strand, die auf Freunde/Familienmitglieder warteten. Man sieht die Wanderung wohl doch nicht als total ungefährlich an.
… There where quite a few people at the beach waiting for friends/family members. It seem like this walk is not considered entirely without danger.

Es war auch mal erlaubt, dort zu übernachten. Das gab man aber wieder auf, weil die Leute sich nicht an die erlaubten Zeltplätze hielten (aus Rücksicht auf die Tiere) und massenweise Abfall hinterliessen. Das verstehe mal einer …

… At a point it had been permitted to stay overnight on the island. This idea was dropped again, as people did not camp on the assigned places (out of consideration for the wildlife), and left a lot of garbage behind. I just don’t get it …

Niedrigwasser Low tide

Auf dem Weg zu unserem nächsten Ziel kamen wir an diesen wunderschönen starken Arbeitspferden vorbei. Ich liebe wirklich Pferde (blöde Allergie)! Ich habe auch ein kurzes Video gemacht, weil ich fand, dass es einem die Tiere näherbringt.

… On the way to our next goal, we passed these beautiful, strong working horses. I really love horses (stupid allergy)! I also made a short video, because I think it gives a better impression of the animals.


Mein Mann hat einmal auf Fünen gewohnt, und zwar in der Nähe von Hasmark. Die schmale Halbinsel (siehe Karte oben) war oft sein Ausflugsziel per Fahrrad. Wir hatten die Fahrräder dabei, fanden aber heraus, dass man auf dem Damm anscheinend nicht mehr Radeln darf. Das war schade, denn für zu Fuss war uns das an dem Tag zu weit, zumal es immer mal so aussah, als ob es regnen würde. Aber aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben. In Hasmark gibt es auch einen sehr schönen Campingplatz, den wir nächstes Mal ausprobieren werden.

… My husband has lived on Fyn many years ago, near Hasmark. The narrow peninsula (see map above) had often been an excursion goal for bicycling. We had taken the bicycles along, but had to find out that in the meantime it was forbidden to ride a bike on the dam. That was unfortunate, as we thought it was too far on foot, also because it looked as if it would be raining soon. But, postponed is not abandoned. There is a really nice camping site in Hasmark, which we will try out next time.




Ja, Wetter gemischt … und der Strand ist doch gar nicht soo schmal.
… Yes, mixed weather … and the beach is actually not THAT narrow, is it?
Diese kleinen Ferienhütten waren richtig schön: zum Strand hin hatten sie eine grössere Terrasse und ein kleines Stück Garten, und auf der Rückseite war noch eine kleinere Terrasse.
… These little holiday cottages were quite nice actually. They had a larger terrace and a little garden at the water front, and in the back they had a smaller terrace as well.

Der Ort erinnerte mich irgendwie an die Ostseebäder, nur nicht ganz so feudal.

… The place reminded me somehow of German Baltic resorts, although it was not as posh.

Das muss ich einfach noch mit euch teilen. Wir fahren an dieser Koppel vorbei und denken „oh, ein Fohlen“. Aber nein, das ist ein kleiner Rehbock, der da mit den beiden Pferden grast.

… I just have to show you this as well. We drive by this paddock and think „oh, a foal“. But no, it is a little roebuck grazing with the horses.


Er hielt sich mehr zu der dunklen Stute. Ob sie ihn wohl als Kind angenommen hat? Was mag da für eine Geschichte hinterstecken. Es sieht so aus, als fühle er sich als Pferd. Er ist anscheinend auch noch nicht ganz ausgewachsen. Dann wurden die Pferde neugierig und alle drei kamen näher an den Zaun. Wie toll! Ich musste mich beeilen, denn von hinten kam langsam ein riesiger Traktor angefahren. Hier die ungekürzten Filmmeter.

… The roebuck kept close to the dark mare. Did she adopt him as her child? What might the background story be? It looks like he is identifying as a horse. He also doesn’t seem to be fully grown yet. Then the horses got curious and all three of them came closer to the fence. Splendid! I had to hurry, as a huge tractor was slowly coming nearer from behind us. Here the unclipped footage.


Ich habe in letzter Zeit so viele Filme gesehen, wo Tiere verschiedener Spezies friedlich und freundschaftlich zusammenleben. Da können wir Menschen uns ein Beispiel dran nehmen. Wir schaffen das nicht einmal innerhalb einer Spezies. Nicht einmal innerhalb einer Nation oder einer Religion, total lächerlich.

… Lately I have watched so many videos about animals of different species living together amicably and in peace. We humans can learn from that. We can’t even live peacefully together within one species. Not even within one nation or one religion, utterly ridiculous.

Nicht so viel Stadt … 😉 … Not so much city … 😉

Das ist ein typisch dänisches Bild. Wenn man zu einem Punkt mit tollem Ausblick kommt, hat man in Dänemark eigentlich schon die Garantie dafür, dass da zumindest eine Bank steht, wenn nicht gar ein Picknicktisch.
… This is a typical Danish photo. Whenever you reach a point with a marvellous view, you have more or less the garantee here in Denmark, that you will find a bench there, if not a picknick table.

Das war so eine schöne Allee, und das „Lichtloch“ am Ende sieht aus als ob es fluktuiert, wie ein Portal zu einer anderen Dimension.
… This was such a beautiful parkway, and the „light hole“ at the end seems to fluctuate, like a portal to another dimension.
Spiegelungen sind immer bezaubernd oder? Man kann gar nicht richtig sehen, wo die richtigen Äste aufhören und die Spiegelung anfängt.
… Reflections are always enchanting, aren’t they? You cannot really see, where the real branches end, and the reflection starts.

Dieses kleine Kerlchen muss ich euch noch zeigen, das war höchstens ein paar Tage alt. Ich musste leider zoomen, weil die beiden Erwachsenen nicht sehr erbaut waren, als ich zu dicht herankam. Da habe ich mich dann etwas zurückgezogen.
… This little foal I have to show you as well, it was a few days old at the most. I had to zoom in, because the two adults didn’t like it, when I came too close. So I moved further away from them.
