Heute habe ich ein paar Impressionen kurz nach der Wintersonnenwende für euch. Wir waren endlich mal wieder in Østerhurup und sind bis zur Angelplattform gegangen. Winterbader waren auch unterwegs, brrrrr. Es war so gegen 13.00 Uhr, und die Sonne war schon am Untergehen.

Es gibt natürlich nicht so viel über den Garten zu erzählen, aber den Vögeln geht es gut. Den einzigen, den ich noch nicht gesehen habe ist das Rotkehlchen. Ich hoffe es ist noch am Leben. Aber ich habe den Zaunkönig und das Grünfinkenpaar gesehen, was mich besonders gefreut hat.

Dem Mais scheint es jetzt blendend zu gehen, er scheint die Sonne zu mögen. Er muss nur noch etwas wachsen, bevor ich die Bohnen aussähen kann. Wenn die keimen, wachsen sie nämlich sehr schnell.

Spezielle Pflanzen … special plants
Wir haben schon lange keine neuen Musikvideos gemacht, und das wird wohl noch etwas dauern. Seit Juni 2020 sind wir nämlich sehr bekümmert um unseren Schwager/Bruder. Damals dachten wir, das wäre jetzt das Ende (er hat Krebs an verschiedenen Stellen), aber nach einer Operation am Bein ging es ihm auf einmal viel besser, so dass er sogar noch seine Enkeltöchter kennenlernen konnte. So gegen Mitte Mai dieses Jahres fiel er um und alles schien vorbei zu sein, obwohl der Krebs nicht gewachsen war. Jedenfalls bekam die Familie eine Wechseldusche mit „er liegt im Sterben“ und „es geht ihm besser“. Er ist jetzt zuhause als Kategorie „terminal“. Lange Erklärung, kurzer Sinn: uns steht der Kopf nicht nach Musikvideos. Aber wir haben trotzdem neue Stücke ins Repertoire aufgenommen, wie z. B. „Here comes the sun“ von den Beatles, „Johnny be Good“ von Chuck Berry und ein paar dänische Lieder.
… We haven’t made any new music videos in a long time, and that will probably still take a while. We have been very worried about our brother-in-law resp. brother since June 2020. At the time we thought that would be the end for him (he has cancer in different places), but suddenly he felt much better after an operation on his leg, so that he could even get to know his granddaughters. Around mid-May this year he fell down and everything seemed to be over, although the cancer hadn’t grown. In any case, the family got roller coaster information with „he is dying“ and „he is better“. He is now at home as a „terminal“ case. Long explanation, in a nutshell: we are not in the mood to produce music videos. But we still added new music to the repertoire, such as „Here comes the sun“ by the Beatles, „Johnny be Good“ by Chuck Berry and a few Danish songs.

Wir haben bereits zweimal einen Salat gegessen, in welchem nur selber gezogene Zutaten waren: Pflücksalat (ideal um Kartoffeln herumgesäht, die Kartoffelblätter schützen den Salat vor der Sonne, klappt ganz toll); Ruccola, der sich unter einer Lupine versteckt hat, den ich aber doch gefunden habe; und dann meine selbstgezogenen Sprossen. Irgendwie gab mir das ein Erfolgserlebnis.

Auf diesem Grundstück haben wir ja auch Platz. Die Pflanzsteine musste ich wegnehmen; die habe ich um das Ziergrasbeet gestellt. Die letzten zwei Nächte waren wir auf Jungfernfahrt auf dem Campingplatz Frydenstrand am Skellet, ganz bei uns in der Nähe. Das war wunderschön und ein Bericht wird folgen.

Schon damals musste ich ihn von der Seite fotografieren, weil sein rechtes Geweih bereits abgebrochen war. Vor ca. zwei Wochen fuhren wir vorbei und sahen, dass das zweite Geweih auch verschwunden war. Aus dem Hirsch war eine Hirschkuh geworden. Ich habe dann schnell ein paar Fotos gemacht für die Nachwelt. 😉 Vorgestern fuhren wir vorbei, und die Hirschkuh hatte kein Gesicht mehr. Da der ganze Baum sehr morsch aussieht, wird man ihn wohl demnächst fällen.

Meine Sommerfutterstellen für die Vögel: Im Süden haben wir drei Baumstämme und dann steue ich unter zweien der Büsche für die Bodenesser. Im Moment hänge ich noch Meisenkugeln auf. Im Gras verstreue ich Hafer und Sonnenblumenkerne für die Grossen und am Küchenfenster sind jetzt nur noch kleingehackte Erdnüsse für die Meisen.

An neuen Besuchern haben wir ein Bachstelzenpaar und einen Grünfinken. Der sass heute in einem der grossen Thujabäume mit Nestmaterial im Schnabel. Vielleicht ist er doch nicht ganz alleine …

Dieses Jahr wollte ich endlich mal ein Milpa-Beet** anlegen, auch 3 sisters genannt (es gibt auch 5 und 7 sisters, Pflanzen die zusammengepflanzt werden und sich gegenseitig unterstützen und beschützen, wenn euch das interessiert, gibt es dazu Videos auf YouTube). Den Mais dafür habe ich mit jeweils zwei Samen im Haus vorgesät, denn auf eine gleichmässige Bodentemperatur draussen von 15 Grad Celsius kann ich lange warten. Es keimte jedoch nur eine Pflanze, von der ich nicht einmal weiss, ob es eine Maispflanze ist. Weiss das jemand von euch? An dem Mais sollen sich Bohnen hochranken und an die Basis gehört eigentlich Kürbis. Da den ausser mir niemand isst, plane ich, stattdessen verschiedene Paprika zu säen. Mal sehen, ob das mit der einen Maispflanze was wird … wenn es eine ist. ** Die Idee kam ursprünglich von Blogger „DerGrafvonBorg, des Grafen Lesestunde„.

Und dann sind da noch ein paar Blüher hinzugekommen: Meine schöne Christrose, die ich letztes Mal schmählich vergessen habe, blaue und rosa anemona blanda, Mini-Narzissen, Perlhyazinthen, Forsythia und Zierjohannisbeere, Primeln und die kleinen Narzissen, die ihre Blüten immer nach Norden drehen (ich muss die wirklich in das Beet auf der linken Seite pflanzen, damit man die Blüten besser sehen kann) und ein paar kleine Tulpen mehr. Dann die beiden kleinen zweifarbigen, die wie Scilla aussehen, aber keine sind. Die haben sich leider nicht vermehrt, dafür haben einige der Primeln sich fleissig ausgesät.

It (the tulip, not the camera) is not bigger than my index finger, the only survivor of ten. I have tried several times more, but the camera staunchly refuses to bring the flower into sharper focus. Das war es dann auch schon wieder. Wir haben am letzten Samstag einen Ausflug mit unserem Neffen zu einer historischen Stätte gemacht, aber davon berichte ich in anderes Mal.

Der neue Gitarrist scheint nicht mehr mit uns jammen zu wollen, hat aber nichts gesagt. Das ist merkwürdig, denn als er das erste Mal bei uns war, schien er so positiv zu sein. Pflanzen aus Malta: ich habe noch 10 Oleanderpflanzen in verschiedenen Grössen. Einige haben Blütenstiele produziert, aber letztendlich fallen die Knospen immer ab, warum wohl??? Hat jemand von euch Erfahrung mit Oleandern? Hier ein paar Bilder von meinen schönsten Exemplaren.

Viermal haben wir schon eigene Kartoffeln gegessen. Ich habe sie spät gesetzt, weil es im April kalt war, und dann bekamen sie im Mai doch noch Nachtfrost ab. Aber es sind schöne Kartoffeln, ohne Flecken oder Schädlinge. (Auf dem Bild frisch aus der Erde.)

Erinnert ihr euch an die mysteriöse Baustelle mit dem Mini-Bagger, die am 29.4. begann? Die Markierungen stehen noch immer am Platz. Die kleine Grabemaschine, die am 2.5. hingestellt wurde war irgendwann wieder weg, ob von den Arbeitern abgeholt oder geklaut wissen wir nicht, wir haben es nicht gesehen. Ich glaube da passiert nichts mehr. Jetzt wurde markiert, dass man aufpassen muss, wenn man da geht und damit hat sich’s. 😀 😀 😀 Eine einfache Lösung! Zweieinhalb Monate steht der Kram da jetzt schon herum, ist doch unglaublich, aber immerhin eine Absichtserklärung … 😉 😀
… Do you remember the mysterious job site with the mini excavator, which started on 29 April? The markings are still there. The excavator, which was put on the pedestrian path on 2 May disappeared shortly afterwards. We don’t know, if the workers collected it or if it was stolen, we didn’t see it. Neuerwerbung: Strandkorb – so einen wollte ich schon immer mal haben. Und er hat den Vorteil, dass man auch bei Wind (d. h. normalerweise) draussen sitzen kann, man ist geschützt. Wir haben schon manche schöne Stunde dort verbracht, einschliesslich Nachmittagsschlaf. Finanziert wird er durch drei Monate nicht im Restaurant essen, keine Süssigkeiten und Kuchen kaufen und nichts für den Garten kaufen. So 3 bis 4 Eis habe ich bereits im normalen Essenbudget weggedrückt … 😉 😀
… New acquisition: roofed beach chair – I always wished to have one of those. It has the great advantage that we can sit outside even when it is windy (which it usually is), we are sheltered in there. We have passed some pleasant hours in there already, including afternoon naps. We are financing it by three months without eating out, buying sweets and cakes, and buying stuff for the garden. About 3 to 4 ice creams I have already buried in the food budget … 😉 😀
Die Luxusausgabe konnten wir uns nicht leisten, so haben wir den Polyesterbezug mit der Baumwolltagesdecke und den Kissen vom Wxxxxbxr Versand veredelt. Die lagen sonst auf meinem roten Sofa. Ich habe den Gentleman bereits darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass der Versand in diesem Design auch viereckige Sitzkissen anbietet … 😉
… We couldn’t afford the luxury edition, so we have ennobled the polyester covers with the cotton bedcover and cushions from a certain German Internet shop. They are normally placed on my red sofa. I have pointed out to the Gentleman that the shop also sells square cushions in this design … 😉

Fuerteventura Pflanzen/plants:
Der Nachzügler hat den Vorwitzigen überholt, denn er begnügte sich mit zwei zweiten Blättern und hat schon gut entwickelte dritte Blätter. Der Vorwitzige plagt sich mit drei grösseren zweiten Blättern (Angeber) und die dritten wollen nicht so richtig.

Vogelei:
Das fanden wir neulich im Vildmose. Von der Grösse (etwas über 5 cm) und der ganz zarten, hellgrünen Farbe her könnte es ein Hühnerhabichtei oder ein Graureiherei sein. Da wir es im Schilf am Fen gefunden haben, gehe ich davon aus, dass es ein Graureiherei ist. Erst dachte ich, dass da ein Vogel geschlüpft ist, aber dafür ist es wohl noch zu früh. Ich fand dann ein Bild von einem Ei, das genauso aussah wie dieses und da stand, dass es von einer Krähe zerstört worden war. Ähnliches gilt wohl leider auch hier.
… We found this at Vildmose one day. Judging from the size (a bit more than 2 inches) and the very tender, light green colour, it could either be the egg of a heron or of a goshawk. As we found it among the reed at the fen, I presume it is a heron egg. First I thought that a bird had hatched, but it is too early for that. Then I found a picture of an egg that looked the same as this one stating that it had been destroyed by a crow. Unfortunately, something similar might have happened here.
Einen Morgen fanden wir auch ein Schwalbenei auf dem Dach unseres Autos, das war in der Mitte auseinandergebrochen. Erst dachten wir „Räuber“, aber der Inhalt war noch im Ei, wenn auch eingetrocknet. Es ist wahrscheinlich nur aus dem Nest gefallen. Die Schwalben sind jedenfalls noch da. Mein Mann hat einen Kackschutz unter dem Nest angebracht, denn dort ist es immer am schlimmsten.
… One morning we found a swallow’s egg on the roof of our car; it was broken into two pieces. First we thought „hunter“, but the contents was still in the egg, even though dried up. It might just have fallen out of the nest. The swallows are still there at least. My husband has built a shXX protection underneath the nest, because it is always worst there.
Alle Bastelprojekte werden nunmehr auf den Winter verschoben. Ich bin mit Musik, Garten, Ausflügen, Bloggen und Lebensmittel herstellen ziemlich ausgebucht. Mehr würde mich nur stressen. Im Winter tausche ich dann Garten gegen Basteln aus, dann passt das wieder.

Halt, stopp, zurück das Ganze: Wir haben noch eine Neuigkeit! Einer der Arbeiter, die für unseren Hauswirt arbeiten, hat sich als famoser Gitarrist entpuppt. Wir hoffen, dass sich daraus eine fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit ergibt.
… Stance, stop, wind back: We have one more news item! One of the workers, who work for our landlord, has proven to be a fabulous guitarist. We hope that a fruitful collaboration will arise.
Musik: Mein Mann bastelt immer noch an dem Blues (Still got the Blues for you), der nicht so schlicht und einfach ist wie manche der anderen Songs in unserem Repertoire. Aber wir haben jetzt einen neuen dazugenommen, und zwar „Looking out my backdoor“ von Credence Clearwater Revival. Der war nicht auf unserer Liste, aber es kommt wohl nicht überraschend … ich bin ja ein Fan.
… Music: My husband is still working with the Blues (Still got the Blues for you), which is not as easy as the other songs in our repertoire. But we decided to take other songs up in the meantime. The latest one is „Looking out my backdoor“ by Credence Clearwater Revival. That was not on our list, but it can’t come as a surprise … I am an absolute Fan.
Übrigens waren neulich unsere hundeerfahrenen Freunde zu Besuch (wir waren in der Hitze im Vildmose mit den Hunden … alle Tiere waren natürlich im Schatten und zeigten sich nicht). Was ich sagen wollte, er spielt in einer Band mit 5-6 anderen und er wollte uns so gerne mal spielen hören. Sie war ganz begeistert auch weil sie unseren Musikgeschmack teilt, und er hielt es irgendwann nicht mehr aus, griff sich die Country-Gitarre meines Mannes und spielte und sang mit. Das nenne ich ein Kompliment!
… By the way, not long ago our dog experienced friends came to see us (we were in the moor in the greatest heat with the dogs … all other animals stayed, of course, in the shade and made no appearance). Where was I? Yes, he plays in a band with 5-6 others and wanted to hear us playing. She was quite enthusiastic, also because she shares our taste of music, and he could not sit still anymore at a point, grabbed my husband’s country guitar and played and sang with us. That’s what I call a compliment!
Motorrad: Wir sind zum ersten Mal in einer grösseren Gruppe gefahren. Es waren allerdings nur 8 Motorräder mit 11 Leuten auf einer Tour nach Djursland. Da waren wir zwar schon, aber wir wollten es doch gerne einmal ausprobieren. Es stellte sich heraus, dass wir doch noch wieder neue und schöne Wege (und Schlösser) kennenlernten.
Am letzten Freitag war das allerdings etwas ganz anderes. Wir fuhren von Mariager nach Hobro mit ca. 230 Motorrädern der verschiedensten Marken in einer langen Prozession (ich dachte, es gäbe im Deutschen das Wort Cortege …). Dieses Treffen sammelte Geld für ein so genanntes Julemærkehjem ein, ein Weihnachtsbriefmarkenheim. Das sind Kinderheime, zu dessen Gunsten zu Weihnachten extra Briefmarken herausgegeben werden, mit denen man dann seine Briefe verschönern kann. Sie zählen allerdings nicht als Porto, sondern „nur“ als Spende. Diese Kinderheime wurden ursprünglich dazu eingerichtet, um Stadtkindern aus finanzschwachen Familien („arm“ darf man ja nicht mehr sagen, es gibt keine Armut in Dänemark …) einen Aufenthalt im Grünen ermöglichen zu können. Es wurden ca. 28000 Kronen eingesammelt, ca. 3758 Euro. Das Heim gab in Hobro Kaffee und Kuchen aus. Ich sah zum ersten Mal die verschiedenen Biker-Klubs, die es gibt, wie z. B. die „Smiling girls“ und die „Sons of freedom“. Und dann war da eine Gruppe (Männer), die alle eine in Erdbeerform- und -farbe gestrickte Mütze trugen, wenn sie den Helm nicht aufhatten. 😉 😀
… Motor bike: We drove for the first time in a larger group. We were only 8 bikes and 11 people, but anyway. We drove through Djursland, were we have been before, but we wanted to try it. We found out that there were still new and beautiful roads (and castles) to discover.
… Last Friday though, it was completely different. We drove with about 230 motorbikes of all kinds of brands from Mariager to Hobro in one long cortege. This meet-up collected money for a so called Julemærkehjem, a Christmas stamp home. These are children’s homes, in favour of which stamps are being issued at Christmas, with which one can embellish one’s letters. They can’t be used as postage though, but „only“ as donation. These children’s homes were originally established to enable city bred children of financially challenged families (we are not supposed to say „poor“ anymore, there isn’t any poverty in Denmark …) to stay a while in green surroundings. We collected ca. 28000 Danish Crowns, ca. 4666 USD or ca. 3294 GBP. We were received with coffee and cake in Hobro. I saw for the first time all the different biker clubs, e. g. the „Smiling girls“ and the „Sons of freedom“. Another group (men) had all caps on knitted in strawberry shape and colour when they had their helmets off. 😉 😀
Um unser Haus herum ist die Wildnis verschwunden, Fliesen gelegt, Gras gesäht, Beete definiert … und es regnete am letzten Sonntag, hurrah! Die Hecke wird im Herbst gepflanzt.
… Around the house the wilderness has disappeared, tiles have been put, grass has been sown, flower beds have been defined … and it rained last Sunday, hurray! The hedge will be planted in autumn.
