Endlich gingen wir mal wieder in Fjordbyen spazieren. Wunderbar, dachte ich, das gibt schöne Adventsbilder. Ich hatte allerdings vergessen, dass Fjordbyen ja – theoretisch – nur im Sommerhalbjahr bewohnt ist.
… After a long time, we went for a walk in Fjordbyen. Wonderful, I thought, there will be great motives for advent photos. What I had forgotten was, that Fjordbyen – in theory – is only inhabited from April to October.
Wir hatten ja gesehen, dass in den letzten beiden Jahren viel an den Häusern gearbeitet wurde wegen der zusätzlichen Brandisolierung, die von der Kommune gefordert wurde. Jetzt konnte man sehen, dass der Unterschied zwischen den gepflegten Häusern und den vernachlässigten noch grösser geworden ist. Wir haben drei bis vier gesehen, die kurz vor dem Zusammenfallen waren. Schade!
… During the last two years we had seen that people worked a lot on their houses because of the additional fire insulation, which the municipality had demanded. This time we could notice that the gap between the well maintained and the neglected houses has become larger than ever. We saw three to four houses, which were short of collapsing. What a pity!

Das waren die Februarfotos. Aber ich habe eines vom Dezember gefunden, ein Rätsel. Es war ganz trocken die Tage, aber als ich aus dem Haus kam, war auf den Fliesen dieser riesige Wasserfleck. Was ist wohl passiert? 😉 😀

Ich muss mir überlegen, was ich mit den Sonnabenden mache (vielleicht die zweite Schottlandreise, vielleicht „alte“ Reiseziele, vielleicht beides und Musiker, wenn mir neue begegnen, die speziell sind), daher seht ihr hier erst einmal ein paar Schlagzeilen.

It is rather cosy, I think, and the room, where we are most of the time, when we are inside, has much more light. Schlagartig damit, dass der Frost verschwand, wurden die Vögel sehr zurückhaltend. Mein Paket mit dem Vogelfutter und den kleinen Futterhäuschen haben wir am letzten Dienstag abholen können. Das lag die ganze Zeit in der lokalen Poststation; sie hatten nur vergessen, es einzuscannen. Wenn ich mich nicht gerührt hätte, wäre das Paket an den Absender zurückgegangen.
… When the frost disappeared, the birds immediately got more distant. The parcel with the bird food we could collect last Tuesday. It was at the local post office all along; they just had forgotten to scan it in. If I had not contacted people, they would just have sent it back to the sender.
Und die Sumpfmeisen sind wieder da, nachdem sich die Futterqualität gebessert hat, die kleinen Feinschmecker … 😉

Sie verschwindet nach links unten in den Busch und kommt dann von recht wieder zurück. … It disappears to the left and into the bush, and then comes back again from the right.
Als etwas aussergewöhnliche Gäste haben wir einen Kleiber und einen Grünfink zu vermelden. Leider habe ich da keine eigenen Fotos, weil die einfach zu schnell wieder weg sind. Der Grünfink war zweimal zu Gast, wurde aber ziemlich brutal von den Amseln vertrieben. Das sind richtige Bullies!
… We had two unusual guests, a nuthatch and a greenfinch. Unfortunately I don’t have my own photos, they are come and gone too quickly. The greenfinch came twice, but was driven away quite brutally by the blackbirds. They are real bullies!

Ich habe eine Aktivität wieder aufgenommen, die ich schon als Studentin vor vielen, vielen Jahren mal ausgeübt habe, nämlich Sprossen selber herzustellen. Das scheint gerade wieder Mode zu sein, dann man bekommt überall die Samen und die Zubehöre zu kaufen. Ich nehme, was ich habe. In Dänemark ist ja alles in Plastik verpackt, das ich umfunktioniere in Sprossengefässe. Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich dann auch ein Sprossenglas hergestellt für Bohnen- und Linsensprossen. Ich habe erst einmal mit Mungbohnen angefangen.
… I started an activity again that I used to do when I was a student, many, many years ago, and that is germing seeds and pulse. It seems to be in fashion again right now, as one can by the seeds and other equipiment everywhere. I use what I have. In Denmark everything is packed in plastic trays, which I use as germing trays. A few days ago I made a germing glass for pulse. I started with mung beans for now.
Das waren nur ein Esslöffel Mungbohnen … I only used one table spoon full of mung beans Die Löcher hat mein Mann in den Deckel gestanzt … von innen nach aussen, damit die Keime nicht beschädigt werden. Man muss allerdings beim Auf- und Zuschrauben aufpassen, dass man nicht seine Hand beschädigt … 😉 … My husband poked the holes into the lid … from inside out so that the germ buds don’t get hurt. But when screwing the lid off and on, one has to be careful not to hurt one’s hand … 😉
„Schuld“ daran war meine Nachbarin (die Sängerin), die mir eine Dose mit 500 g (!!) Chia-Samen vermacht hat. Ich habe dann einfach probiert, ob die keimen, und sie taten. Für diese feinen Samen benutze ich einen Parmesanstreuer, dann wird das schön gleichmässig.
… The „blame“ for this is to be placed with my neighbour (the singer), who gave me a tin with 500 g (!!) of Chia seeds. I just tried, if they would germ, and they did. For these small seeds I use a parmesan dispenser, which makes the seed layer very even.

Und dann waren wir zum ersten Mal in diesem Jahr in Fjordby (Aalborg). Die meisten Häuser sind fertig isoliert und die Fassaden sind neu gemalt. Das sieht sehr schön aus. Ich habe nur ein paar Fotos gemacht von Dingen, die neu sind. Da, wo Leute am Arbeiten waren, wollte ich nicht fotografieren, das kommt ein anderes Mal dran.
… And then we were for the first time this year in Fjordby (Aalborg). Most of the houses are done (insulation) and the facades have gotten a new layer of paint. That looks very appealing. I have only taken a few photos of new stuff. Where there were people working on the houses, I didn’t want to take photos. I can do that another time.
Da sind an der kurzen Seite einige Instrumente hinzugekommen und man hat ein Schild mit „Musikkens hus“ (Haus der Musik) aufgehängt. So heisst die Konzerthalle in Aalborg … 😉 … A few instruments have been added on the short side of the house, and they put up a sign with „Musikken hus“ (house of music), which is the name of the concert hall in Aalborg … 😉 Dieses Detail fand ich interessant, ein Kinderrad mit Platz für einen Passagier. … I lilked this little detail, a child’s tricycle with a passenger seat. Man hat einen gemeinsamen Kinderspielplatz angelegt. Das kleine Fährschiff lag ansonsten im Wasser unten am Fjord. … People have built a joint playground. The little ferry had been in the water down at the fjord otherwise. Die Picknicktische sind meiner Meinung nach auch neu, also jedenfalls neu aufgestellt. The picnic tables are also new, as far as I know. Ein paar neue Details: Den grimme ælling (das hässliche Entlein) … A few new details: Den grimme ælling (the ugly duckling)
Garten: Die einzigen Blumen, die bei mir im Moment blühen sind die Schneeglöcken. Ich habe zwei Sorten, die mit den schlanken Blüten und welche mit gefüllten Blüten. Die Eranthis lassen auf sich warten, ich kann nicht einmal die Blätter entdecken.
… Garden: The only plants that are flowering here at the moment are the snowdrops. I have two kinds, those with the slim blossoms and those with filled blossoms. The winter aconite is nowhere to be seen, not even the leaves.
Die Zwergiris, Krokusse, Scilla und Perlhyazinthen zeigen ihr Grün. Diese Zwergiris wird in den nächsten paar Tagen blühen.

Ich dachte, dieses „Grafitti“ wurde vergrössert, um die hässlichen, schwarzen U-Boote zu verdecken, aber es ist noch genauso wie in 2018.

Im Aalborg Streetfood haben einige Veränderungen stattgefunden, einige gut, andere weniger gut, aber es gibt dort immer noch viele interessante Restaurationsstände, von denen viele auch vegetarische Gerichte anbieten, nicht viel, aber immerhin. Die ganze Halle ist renoviert worden und anscheinend wird in den hinteren Räumen eine Spielhalle eingerichtet. Streetfood hat den Vorteil, dass es direkt an einem Yachthafen und nur 150 Meter von Fjordbyen entfernt liegt.
… Aalborg Streetfood has undergone some changes, some good, some maybe not so good, but it is still a place with many interesting food stalls, many of which offer vegetarian dishes, not many, but still. The whole place has been refurbished, and it looks like a large gambling hall is being created in the back rooms. Streetfood has the advantage that it is situated directly at a marina and only 150 metres from Fjordbyen.
Vorher gab es neben den langen Tischen mit Bänken auch Polsterstühle und Sofas. Die sind jetzt alle weg und wurden durch modernes Mobiliar ersetzt. Hier z. B. der Fisch ’n Chips Stand, vorher – nachher. Es sieht jetzt sauberer aus, finde ich, aber das ehemalige Grafitti ist jetzt nur noch ein grosses Reklameschild. Mir gefällt allerdings die Idee mit den Lampen“schirmen“, sehr einfallsreich.
… Before, there were cosy corners with plush chairs and sofas beside the long tables with benches. They are all gone now, and more modern furniture has taken their place. Here the example of the Fish ’n Chips stall. Before and after. It looks cleaner now, I think, but the former grafitti on the wall is now just a big advertisement. I do like the idea with the lamp „shades“ though, very inventive.

Draussen am Kai beim Streetfood hat ein neues Hausboot angelegt. Es ist am Bug ein wenig verbeult, aber platzmässig kann man doch gut darin wohnen. Der Gentleman und ich haben das mal für uns angedacht, in einem Boot zu wohnen, also fest. Das ist aber administrativ so kompliziert, besonders einen Hafen zu finden, wo man das ganze Jahr über liegen darf, so dass wir es schnell wieder aufgegeben haben.
… A new houseboat has moored right outside Streetfood. It has a lot of dents in its bow, but as far as space is concerned, it seems to good for living. The Gentleman and I have thought about living in a boat once, meaning as our home. However, it is administratively rather complicated, especially to find a marina, where one is allowed to moor all year, so that we given up on the idea.
Wenn ihr mal nach Aalborg kommen solltet, dann kann ich die Cafes in der Strasse „Boulevarden“ empfehlen. Sie sind nicht so teuer und man bekommmt immer was Vegetarisches. Auch in einigen der kleinen Nebenstrassen des „Boulevarden“ findet man kleine, gemütliche Cafes.
… If you should come to Aalborg, I can recommend the cafes in the street „Boulevarden“. They are not so expensive, and you will always get something vegetarian. In some of the bystreets of „Boulevarden“, you will also find some small, cosy cafes.
Für abends kann ich die Innenstadt (siehe Karte unten) empfehlen. Dort findet man etwas für alle Geschmäcker und Geldbeutel.

Auf der nächsten Karte sieht man etwas mehr. Unten, der schwarz eingerahmte Name ist das Restaurant der Brüder Price. Die beiden Brüder haben auch ein Restaurant im Tivoli und eine eigene Fernsehshow. Ausser dem Kochen spielen sie auch Musik und schreiben Sketche für die Revue „Cirkusrevyen“, die jedes Jahr, ausser diesem, in einem grossen Zelt auf dem Bakken stattfindet. Bakken ist der grosse Vergnügungspark im Norden von Kopenhagen.
… On the next map there are more restaurants visible. The black framed name is the restaurant of the brothers Price. The two brothers also own a restaurant in Tivoli and have their own tv show. Beside cooking, they play music and write sketches for the revue thatre „Cirkusrevyen“, which takes place every year – except this one – in a large tent at „Bakken“. Bakken is the large theme park in the north of Copenhagen.
Die beiden grün eingerahmten sind einmal das Restaurant Tabu, wo es seit zwei Jahren gleich daneben die vegane Version, nämlich das Restaurant Ubat gibt (derselbe Betreiber). Im Ubat waren wir, sehr empfehlenswert. (Unbezahlte Werbung)

Ganz in der Nähe liegt „Cafe Tusindfryd“, ein Musik- und Happeningcafe. Manchmal sind da Konzerte, ansonsten kann man da „hängen“ und lesen, mit anderen Leuten quatschen, Spiele spielen etc. Früher wurde auch einmal in der Woche vegan gekocht. Das scheint im Moment nicht der Fall zu sein. (Unbezahlte Werbung)
… Close by is „Cafe Tusindfryd“, a music and happening cafe. Sometimes there are concerts, otherwise one can just hang out and read, talk to other people, play games etc. There used to be one day with vegan food, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, but maybe will be again. (Unpaid aid)

Aalborg und Umgebung ist wirklich eine Reise wert, wenn man mal die ewigen Dünen und fantastischen Wellen an der Nordsee satt hat … 😉 😀

Es tut sich was in Aalborgs Fjordbyen. Die Kommune hat allen Haueigentümern, deren Häuser weniger als vier Meter von einander entfernt liegen (das sind die meisten) auferlegt, für eine zusätzliche Brandsicherung zu sorgen. Daher wird allseits gehämmert und die Ballen mit Steinwolle stapeln sich in den Gärten. Ich dachte immer, Steinwolle wäre nur für Wärmeisolierung. Wieder was dazugelernt …
… There is a lot of activitiy in Fjordbyen. The council has demanded that all houses that are less than four metres apart (that means most of them) need an additional layer of fire insulation. Therefore, one hears hammering all over the place and piles of rock wool can be found in the gardens. I thought that rock wool was only for heat insulation. Learned something again …

Hier muss der Besitzer gewechselt haben. Vorher waren an der Langseite Hühner untergebracht. Es sieht ja toll aus, aber es tut mir in der Seele weh, wenn ich sehe, wie diese schönen Instrumente Wind und Wetter ausgesetzt sind.

Hier noch ein paar weitere Eindrücke. Erst eine typische Fjordbyen-Strasse und dann ein paar einzelne Häuser.

Die nächsten beiden Häuser wurden „Amalienborg“ (links) nach Königin Margretes Schloss in Kopenhagen und „Schackenborg“ nach Prinz Joachims Schloss in Møgeltønder, Jütland, nahe der deutschen Grenze, genannt.

Auf diesem Bild habe ich erst beim Anschauen hinterher gesehen, dass das Vogelhaus an der Wand aus einer Teekanne gemacht ist. 😀

Auch an der Wasserkante hat sich etwas getan. Hier wurde mit Zement und grossen Steinen eine Landschaft gebaut und ein Feuerplatz. Dieser Platz ist „alles have“, jedermanns Garten. Am anderen Ufer sieht man die „schönen“ Neubauten von Nørresundby.
… Also the waterfront has new features to show. With large stones and red cement, people have built a kind of landscape and a fire place. This is „alles have“, everybody’s garden. On the other bank you can see the „pretty“ housing of Nørresundby.
Und hier ein Schiff zu Ehren von Erbprinz Knud (Königin Margretes Onkel). Es gab oder gibt eine Fähre nach Deutschland, die so hiess/heisst. Prinz Knud stand Modell für die nicht sehr schmeichelhafte Redewendung „så tager vi den én gang til for prins Knud“ (und jetzt noch einmal für Prinz Knud), wenn man sicher gehen will, dass alle es verstanden haben. Er schien nicht das hellste Licht in der königlichen Familie gewesen zu sein. (Sehe ich richtig? Stehen die beiden hohen Häuser schief?)
… And here a boat to honour the former heir to the throne Prince Knud (Queen Margrete’s uncle). There was or is a ferry of that name, sailing between Denmark and Germany. The Danes dedicated a rather unflattering saying to Prince Knud „så tager vi den én gang til for prins Knud“ (and one more time for Prince Knud), whenever one wanted to be sure that everybody had understood. Seems like he wasn’t the brightest light in the Royal Family. (Do I see correctly? Are the two high buildings sloping?)
Ich hoffe, dass die Stadt Aalborg noch lange an Fjordbyen festhalten wird und sich nicht von Bauhaien überreden lässt, es irgendwann doch noch dem Boden gleichzumachen und irgendwelche hässlichen Hochhäuser zu bauen. Jetzt haben die Bewohner jedenfalls erst einmal eine Gnadenfrist von 13 Jahren, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, nach den letzten Verhandlungen zwischen dem Verein und der Kommune. Solche kleinen Schätze gibt es viel zu wenig.
… I hope that the city of Aalborg will preserve Fjordbyen for a long time and not let itself be pursuaded by construction sharks to level it and build some ugly skyscrapers or such. At the moment, the inhabitants have a grace period of 13 years I think it was, after negotiations between the owner association and the council. There are too few of these small jewels.

Oben auf dem Steilhang, kaum sichtbar, steht eine der Bänke, die man in Dänemark überall dort findet, wo es eine fantastische Aussicht gibt; in diesem Fall auf den Økssø.

Ein Symbol der Natur. Das ist kein Zweig, der aus einem noch lebenden Stumpf wächst, hier hat sich ein neuer Baum auf einen toten Stumpf gesät. Aus altem Leben entsteht Neues.

Ein Haus in Fjordby, das wir bisher noch nicht gesehen hatten. Über der Tür steht „Blue Pearl“. Ob das wohl eine Anlehnung an Jack Sparrows „Black Pearl“ ist? Man findet auch um das ganze Haus herum Totenköpfe verteilt.
