Ganz kurz eine Bemerkung für die Vogelgucker unter uns: Ich habe drei Grünfinkenmännchen und ein -weibchen am Futterplatz gesehen. Die Anzahl hat sich also zum letzten Jahr verdoppelt. Vielleicht sind da noch mehr Weibchen, ich kann sie manchmal nicht von den Buchfinkenweibchen unterscheiden. Warum erwähne ich das überhaupt? Weil die Zahl der Grünfinken generell drastisch schwindet.
… A very short remark for the bird watchers among us: I have spied three greenfinch males and one female at the feeders. Their number has therewith doubled from last year. There may be more females, I have sometimes difficulties to tell them apart from the chaffinch females. Why do I mention this at all? Because the number of greenfinches in general is dwindling drastically.

… People are really trying everything to save the coast. All logs from uprooted trees and other wood debris is used to fill in the gaps. I need to mention that the adjacent properties are almost all in private hands, even if it is allowed to use the hiking paths. In other words, the coast fixation is a purely private initiative.
… The sun that we had in the morning, was already covered by clouds again by midday.
Gestern hatten wir einen ganzen Tag Sonne, das heisst im Januar hatten wir bereits 1 2/2 Sonnentage! 🙂

Liebe Birgit, dann gibt es dort sicherlich Ebbe und Flut?
Ansonsten das Meer holt sich alles zurück. Einige Inseln haben regelmäßige Abbrüche. Auf Sylt, sind schon einige Strandlokale vernichtet worden.
Schöne Aufnahmen hast du gemacht, die in mir sehr viele Erinnerungen wach werden lassen.

Danke, liebe Lilo. Ja im Kattegat gibt es Gezeiten, aber im Winter ist die Flut höher als im Sommer, jedenfalls kommt es mir so vor. Die Steilkante dort ist einer unserer Lieblingsspaziergänge.

Some days it didn’t really get light and we had to have lights on all day, but luckily that is rare. The weather has been terrible since November.

I am a wimp – what we call cold here you’d probably regard as warm – when it’s cloudy and cold though, it’s hard for me to get anything done

Auch wir wohnen direkt am Meer, aber leider ist unser Problem die Verlandung. Dennoch wird hier einiges für den Küstenschutz getan. Es gab auch in den 50iger Jahren verheerende Fluten.
Wir lieben die Subtilität der Grautöne. Unser Ort wird übrigens ‚Mecca der Birdwatcher‘ genannt.
Der Ort heißt Cley next the Sea, aber das ’next the Sea‘ muss bald gestrichen werden.

Ja, auf einer Seite wird es genommen, an einer anderen Stelle wird es angelanded. Fragt sich nur wie lange noch? Der Wasserstand steigt allgemein.

Das ist wohl wahr, aber das Maß ist hier nicht derart beängstigend gemäß der Karte des steigenden Meeresspiegels in Europa. Well, zumindest nicht mehr während unserer Lebenszeit hier.
