Glyphosat ist noch immer das weltweit am meisten eingesetzte Pestizid. Auch in Deutschland sind die Absatzmengen zuletzt wieder angestiegen. Und das, obwohl das massive Artensterben unaufhörlich weitergeht, zu dem Glyphosat und andere Pestizide maßgeblich beitragen. Für uns ist schon lange klar: Es muss sich etwas ändern – das gefährliche Gift Glyphosat muss endlich vom Acker!

Nächstes Jahr läuft die Zulassung auf EU-Ebene aus. Und es besteht Hoffnung, dass sich unter den EU-Mitgliedstaaten keine Mehrheit für die Verlängerung findet. Daher kommt es jetzt auf uns an! Um eine Mehrheit gegen das Gift zu sichern, braucht es im kommenden Jahr eine unermüdliche Aufklärungs- und Kampagnenarbeit.

Wir wollen uns in Deutschland an die Spitze der Protestbewegung gegen das gefährliche Ackergift stellen und mit lauter Stimme nach Brüssel rufen: Jetzt reicht’s – Schluss mit Glyphosat! Dafür arbeiten wir eng mit anderen Organisationen in Deutschland und ganz Europa zusammen. Damit die Proteste der verschiedenen Länder koordiniert und gebündelt werden können, helfen wir bei der Finanzierung einer EU-weiten Koordinationsstelle. Protestaktionen, Infomaterial und Personalkosten kosten Geld: Wir freuen uns deshalb über jeden Beitrag, der unsere wichtige Arbeit gegen Ackergifte wie Glyphosat unterstützt!

Seit über einem Jahrzehnt klären wir über die Risiken des Ackergifts auf und forderten als eine der ersten Umweltschutzorganisationen ein endgültiges Verbot in Deutschland und der gesamten EU. Und wir haben bereits viel erreicht: Mit Demonstrationen, Petitionen wie der EU-Bürgerinitiative „Stop Glyphosat“, mit Faltblättern und eigenen Untersuchungen, zum Beispiel zu Glyphosatrückständen in Bier, im Urin oder in der Luft konnten wir eine Zulassung für weitere 15 Jahre verhindern. Im kommenden Jahr haben wir die Möglichkeit, Glyphosat endlich von unseren Äckern zu verbannen.

Glyphosate is still the most widely used pesticide in the world. In Germany, too, sales volumes have recently increased again. And this despite the fact that the massive extinction of species, to which glyphosate and other pesticides contribute significantly, continues incessantly. It has long been clear to us: something has to change – the dangerous poison glyphosate finally has to be removed from the fields!

Approval at EU level expires next year. And there is hope that the EU member states will not find a majority for the extension. So now it’s up to us! In order to secure a majority against the poison, tireless educational and campaign work will be needed in the coming year.

In Germany we want to lead the protest movement against the dangerous crop poison and shout loudly to Brussels: That’s enough – stop glyphosate! To this end, we work closely with other organizations in Germany and throughout Europe. We are helping to finance an EU-wide coordination office so that the protests in the various countries can be coordinated and bundled. Protest actions, information material and personnel cost money: We are therefore happy about every contribution that supports our important work against field toxins such as glyphosate!

For more than a decade we have been clarifying the risks of the arable poison and were one of the first environmental protection organizations to call for a final ban in Germany and the entire EU. And we have already achieved a lot: With demonstrations, petitions such as the EU citizens‘ initiative „Stop Glyphosate“, with leaflets and our own investigations, for example into glyphosate residues in beer, in urine or in the air, we were able to prevent approval for another 15 years. In the coming year we have the opportunity to finally ban glyphosate from our fields.
