Wir haben uns nicht in dem Ort selbst umgesehen, der etwas höher liegt, können es aber nur empfehlen! Wir wollten an die Küste. Wenn man von der kleinen Kapelle aus nach links geht, kommt man zu einigen Häusen und kleinen Restaurants. Wir suchten die Höhlen, die dort sein sollten, verpassten aber gerade eine Führung und wollten nicht stundenlang warten. Wir müssten vielleicht mal besser planen, aber wir lieben es, einfach nur zu fahren, zu gucken, anzuhalten und etwas näher zu gucken. Manchmal verpasst man dann etwas, und manchmal findet man etwas, was man gar nicht erwartet hat.
… First of all breakfast. It was a bit chilly in the mornings, but we were able to sit outside.
… We did not walk around in the town itself, which is a bit higher up, but we would recommend to do so! We wanted to get down to the coast. If you walk to the left of the little chapel, you get to some houses and small restaurants. We were looking for the caves that were supposed to be there, but we just missed a guided tour and didn’t want to wait for hours. Maybe we should plan a bit better, but we love to just drive and look, stop and take a closer look. Sometimes we miss out on something, but at other times we find things that we didn’t even expect.
… On the Canary islands one would call this a „barranco“. There is a lot of room for more water.
We walked up and down there!
Wir fuhren dann eine der Strassen zum Hochplateau hinauf. Ich weiss nicht warum, aber diese Landschaft fasziniert mich, zumal da oft dieses Spiel mit den Wolken ist. Auch die Abfahrt war dann sehr neblig/wolkig.
… We drove up one of the roads leading to the high plateau. I don’t know why, but this landscape fascinates me. Often there is this cloud „show“. Also the way down was very foggy/cloudy.
… On one of those small roads in the mountains I could see that underneath the tarmac there were cobblestones. What an impressive peace of work!
Hier folgen einige Fotos, die einen Eindruck von den alten Küstenstrassen bieten. Die Mauer, wo wir mit Seeblick picknicken, ist allerdings nicht so alt. An der steilen Klippe sahen wir ein Paar Turmfalken.
… We followed the small old coastal roads, of which the photos give you an impression. The place where we are picnicking does not look so old though. We saw a pair of kestrels up on the steep cliff.
Ich nehme an, dass die Brücke und die Treppe Teil eines der vielen Wanderwege Madeiras sind. Ich wäre dort gerne hinüber- bzw. hochgegangen, aber wir konnten dort nirgendwo parken.
… I presume that the bridge and the staircase are part of one of Madeira’s numerous hiking paths. I would have loved to cross over resp. climb up, but we couldn’t park the care anywhere.
