Ich habe jetzt einen Übersetzer-widget ganz unten links auf dem nunmehr einfarbigen Streifen. Aus irgendeinem Grund ist die Länderliste auf Dänisch. Ich verstehe das nicht, denn meine Arbeitssprache bei WP ist Englisch. Ich gehe davon aus, dass das eine automatische Funktion von Google ist, weil ich mich in Dänemark befinde (oho, Ortsbestimmung!). Aber ihr seid ja alle intelligent und so anders sind die Sprachbezeichnungen im Dänischen ja nicht. Viel Spass! Ich habe es gestern mit Französisch probiert und fand heraus, dass die Übersetzung aus dem Deutschen besser war, als die von der Englischen Version. Ich hätte das andersherum erwartet. Aber vielleicht ist mein English eben doch nicht so gut. Ich finde nur, dass bei Google viel verloren geht, z. B. Wortspiele und Ironie … und übertragene Bedeutungen von Worten schnallt Google auch meistens nicht.

… I added a translation widget to my page, bottom left on the now uni-coloured strip. For one or the other reason, the country list is in Danish. I don’t understand that, as my WP operational language is English. I presume that this is a automatical function by Google, because I am located in Denmark (oho, location finding!). But you are all intelligent, and the Danish names are not that different. Have fun! I have tried it with French yesterday and noted that the translation from German was better than from the English version. I would have expected it to be the other way round. But maybe my English isn’t that good anyway. I just think that a lot gets lost in a Google translation, for example word games and irony … and figurative meanings of words Google most of the time doesn’t pick up either.

Ich habe das Garn schon lange „umkreist“ und dann war es auf einmal im Sonderangebot … da hat mein keine Wahl oder? Ich denke, dass ich ihn über dünnen Rollkragenpullovern tragen kann, die ich im Winter gerne unter Wollpullovern anhabe. Einen passenden Schal (der auch zu anderen meiner Kleidungsstücke passt) habe ich auch gefunden.

Da waren eine ganze Menge Möbel und Zimmer ausgestellt, darunter auch ein Saal, wo wirklich sämtliche Opfer von ganzen Generationen von Jägern an den Wänden hingen, also Geweihe und Köpfe. Das fand ich sehr bedrückend.

Mit dem letzten Foto ist eine Geschichte verbunden. Man weiss nicht mehr, wann diese Holzfigur auf dem Dachboden aufgetaucht ist. Die Sage geht, dass man sie nicht entfernen darf, weil dann in der Weihnachtsnacht das ganze Schloss im Burggraben verschwinden würde. Frühere Eigentümer haben daher Weihnachten woanders als im Schloss verbracht. (Warum eigentlich? Solange sie die Figur nicht entfernen, sollten sie doch in Sicherheit sein.) Die heutigen Bewohner feiern Weihnachten in Egeskov und stellen dem hölzernen Mann eine Schale mit der traditionellen Reisgrütze hin.
… There is a story connected with the last photo. Nobody remembers, when the wooden figure appeared in the attic of the castle for the first time. The legend says that it should not be removed, as then the entire castle would desappear into the moat during Christmas night. Therefore, earlier owners have celebrated Christmas in other places than Egeskov. (Why actually? I mean as long as they don’t remove the figure, they should be safe.) The current inhabitants celebrate Christmas in the castle and bring a bowl of the traditional rice porridge to the wooden man.

Ich werde nicht mit den anderen Sammlungen fortfahren, weil ich lieber erst einmal über andere Ausflüge schreiben möchte, die sich angesammelt haben. Nur so viel: Es handelt sich um Sammlungen alter Autos, alter Motorräder und Mopeds sowie der bereits genannten Fahrräder und Landwirtschaftsgeräte bzw. -fahrzeuge. Ich werde aber darauf zurückkommen, bleibt also am Ball! 😉
