Falls ihr euch wundert, dass so wenig (oder keine) Leute unterwegs waren: das war am 23.4., einem Freitag, und es war erbärmlich kalt trotz Sonnenschein. Daher wollte ich auch nicht bei einem der Restaurants draussen auf der Terrasse sitzen.

Auch ein ziemlich grosser Industriehafen (im Vergleich zur Stadt) gehört zum gemütlichen Skagen.

Grenen ist der nördliche Teil der Halbinsel mit dem kleinen Zipfel, an dessen Ende man angeblich mit einem Fuss in der Nordsee und mit dem anderen in der Ostsee stehen kann … wenn man also das Kattegat der Ostsee zurechnet. Es gibt eine starke Strömung in Dänemark, die es der Nordsee zuordnet, womit die ganze romantische Idee hinfällig wäre. Man kann jedoch keinen Fehler machen, wenn man sagt, dass man dort mit einem Bein im Skagerrak und dem anderen im Kattegat stehen kann. 😉
… Grenen is the most northern part of the peninsula with the little protrusion, where one can allegedly stand with one foot in the North Atlantic, and with the other in the Baltic Sea … if one counts the Kattegat for being part of the Baltic Sea. There is a strong movement in Denmark, which considers it part of the North Atlantic, and that would spoil the entire romantic idea. But, one cannot make a mistake with saying that one can stand there with one foot in the Skagerak, and with the other in the Kattegat. 😉

… And this vehicle, „Sandormen“ (the rock wurm) takes you there, if you wish. You can also walk, of course. It only is ca. 1 mile from the parking space, but one walks mainly through deep, soft sand. I found it wearisome.
Einen Besuch in Skagen und an der Nordspitze kann ich nur empfehlen, auch für Radfahrer. Am Skagen Nordstrand findet man übrigens den meisten Bernstein … angeblich. Ich habe nie etwas gefunden, aber ich wüsste auch gar nicht, wie der in Rohform aussieht. Besonders besuchenswert in Skagen finde ich das Museum mit den wunderschönen Malereien der Skagen-Maler. … und den Hotdog-Stand am Sct. Laurentii Vej, der von einer sehr charmanten Schwedin betrieben wird. Es gibt „Kradser“ (man spricht das aus wie „Krasser“). Das ist ein Hotdog ohne Würstchen für die Vegetarier. In den allermeisten dänischen Hotdog-Ständen bekommt man die.
… I can warmly recommend a visit to Skagen and the northern tip, also for cyclists. At Skagen Nordstrand (north beach) most of the amber is found … allegedly. I have never found any, but I wouldn’t know what it looks like in its original state anyway. I especially find the museum with the beautiful paintings of the Skagen painters worthwhile to visit. … and the hotdog booth at Sct. Laurentii Vej, which is driven by a very charming Swedish woman. You can get a „Kradser“ (pronounced like „crusser“, the „u“ as in „crush“, but not the Northern English way, where the „u“ in „crush“ is pronounced the same way as in „push“ 😉 ). A „kradser“ is a hotdog without a sausage, for the vegetarians among us. In most Danish hotdog booths you will get it.
… You know this photo already from the April favourites. This „queue“ of vessels continues to the left, as far as the eye can see. Impressive, but at the same time somehow alarming.

During April we had between 4-6 degrees Celsius during the day, and frost at night. I think it was the coldest April like ever?

mit diesem Beitrag hast du mir ein ganz besondere Freude gemacht. Du hast meine Urlaubserinnerungen aufgefrischt.
Oh ja, ich stand wirklich auch mit einem Bein in der Nordsee und mit dem anderen Bein in der Ostsee.
Allerdings konnte ich keinen Unterschied feststellen. Es war nur nass. *grins*
Die Städte sind bestechend sauber und wie du schon beschrieben hast alle im gleichen Stil gebaut. Dänemark ist wirklich eine Reise wert. Alle meine Bekannten die dort Urlaub gemacht haben waren der gleichen Meinung.
