Out of the crisis – not back into it
Um die ökonomischen Folgen der Corona-Krise abzufedern, greift der Staat der Wirtschaft unter die Arme. Doch die Rettungspakete drohen die Klimakrise weiter anzuheizen, statt den dringend nötigen sozialen und ökologischen Umbau von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft voranzubringen.
Corona wirkt wie ein Brandbeschleuniger für Ungerechtigkeiten – nicht nur beim Klimaschutz: überlastete und schlecht bezahlte Krankenpfleger:innen, unbezahlbare Mieten und Arbeitslosigkeit hier, Hunger und tödliche Fluchtrouten im Süden der Welt. Viele Menschen merken deutlich, dass wirtschaftliche Konkurrenz die wichtigen Fragen nicht regelt.
Jetzt ist oft von Solidarität die Rede. Applaus reicht aber nicht, Milliarden für Industrien von gestern schaden nur. Und Solidarität, die an Landesgrenzen Halt macht, ist keine. In einem heute gemeinsam mit über 50 Organisationen veröffentlichten Aufruf beziehen wir deshalb Position für eine solidarische Krisenbewältigung: Eine Politik, die den Weg in eine sozial und ökologisch gerechte Wirtschaft ermöglicht. Solidarisch für ALLE! In den nächsten Monaten sind von Seiten des Bündnisses mehrere Aktionstage geplant. Auftakt ist eine Aktionswoche vom 8. bis 16. Juni.

In order to absorb the shock of the economic consequences caused by the Corona crisis, the government is helping the economy. But the rescue packages threaten to fuel the climate crisis further instead of promoting the urgently needed social and ecological restructuring of economy and society.
Corona has the effect of a fire accelerant for injustices – not only when it comes to climate protection: overworked and poorly paid nurses, unaffordable rents and unemployment here; hunger and deadly escape routes in the south of the world. Many people clearly notice that economic competition does not regulate the important issues.
At the moment, there is often talk of solidarity. But applause is not enough, billions for yesterday’s industries only cause damage. And solidarity that stops at national borders is not solidarity. In a call published today, together with over 50 organizations, we are therefore taking a stand for solidarity-based crisis management: a policy that paves the road to a socially and ecologically just economy. Solidarity for EVERYONE! The alliance has planned several days of activities over the next few months. A start is made with an action week from June 8th to 16th.
