Nun könntest du fragen, wann der Wille ein rechter Wille sei? Dann ist der Wille vollkommen und recht, wenn er ohne jede Ich-Bindung ist und wo er sich seiner selbst entäußert hat und in den Willen Gottes hineingebildet und -geformt ist. Ja, je mehr dem so ist, desto rechter und wahrer ist der Wille. Und in solchem Willen vermagst du alles, es sei Liebe oder was du willst.
Nun fragst du: »Wie könnte ich die Liebe haben, solange ich sie nicht empfinde noch ihrer gewahr werde, wie ich es an vielen Menschen sehe, die große Werke aufzuweisen haben und an denen ich große Andacht und wunders was finde, wovon ich nichts habe?« Hier mußt du zwei Dinge beachten, die sich in der Liebe finden: Das eine ist das Wesen der Liebe, das andere ist ein Werk oder ein Ausbruch der Liebe. Die Stätte des Wesens der Liebe ist allein im Willen; wer mehr Willen hat, der hat auch mehr Liebe. Aber wer davon mehr habe, das weiß niemand vom andern; das liegt verborgen in der Seele, dieweil Gott verborgen liegt im Grunde der Seele, Diese Liebe liegt ganz und gar im Willen; wer mehr Willen hat, der hat auch mehr Liebe.

Then the will is perfect and right, when it is without any connection with the ego, and where it has emptied itself and is formed and shaped into the will of God. Yes, the more that is the case, the more right and truer the will is. And with such a will you are able to do everything, be it love or whatever you want.
Now you ask: How could I have love as long as I do not feel it or become aware of it, as I see it in many people who have great works to show and in whom I find great devotion and much else, of what I have nothing? Here you have to consider two things that are found in love: one is the essence of love, the other is a work or an outburst of love. The place of the essence of love is in the will alone; whoever has more will also has more love. But who has more of it, nobody knows that about the other; that lies hidden in the soul, because God lies hidden at the bottom of the soul.
