Heute gibt es mal wieder ein bisschen Dänemark, und zwar Eindrücke vom schönen Mariager. Dieses Mal haben wir uns das Kloster mit Kräutergarten und den kommunalen Rosengarten angesehen, aber den gibt es in einem separaten Beitrag. Mariager begann im 14. Jahrhundert um das Kloster der Birgittiner herum zu entstehen. Der Name leitet sich ab von „Marias ager“ nach der Jungfrau Maria.
… Today I have a little bit of Denmark again, impressions from beautiful Mariager. This time we have taken a look at the convent and the garden, as well as the city’s rose garden. About the latter I will report in a separate post. Mariager started to grow around the convent of the Birgittines during the 14th century. The name derives from „Maria’s ager“ after the virgin Mary.

Der Mariagerfjord ist einer unserer liebsten Ausflugsziele, das dieses Jahr ein wenig zu kurz gekommen ist.

They didn’t have anything that I didn’t have already in the garden. It was a bit disappointing actually. Convent herb gardens are often very inspiring, this wasn’t. But it was otherwise beautiful. 🙂

Das war ein wunderber Spaziergsng durch das Klosteranwesen. Dein Mann hat da einen schönen Platz zum Ausruhen gefunden. Gab es da auch etwas zu essen oder muss man seinen eigenen Proviant mitbringen? Ich erinnere mich in Bayern gab es Bier und tolles Essen in der Klosterwirtschaft.

Ausser den Äpfeln im Garten gab es nichts zu essen. Das Kloster ist wohl zu klein für sowas. Ich habe auch nicht eine Birgittine gesehen …

Eine wunderschöne Kloster Anlage, die sicherlich viele Gäste anlocken wird.
Deinem Mann ging es sicher gut, denn er sieht wirklich zufrieden aus.
