Ich wunderte mich, wie der Philo an der Wand hochkrabbelt. Er bildet lange und kurze, harte Luftwurzeln, mit denen er sich abstützt. Er bohrt sich nicht in die Wand damit, er hält sich nur durch Druck. Eine geniale Pflanze! Ein Austrieb ist schon von der Uhr aus auf dem Wege zurück.
… I was wondering how my philo is crawling up the wall. It forms longer and shorter, hard air roots, with which it is supporting itself. It does not go into the wall with them, but only uses pressure. A genious plant! One of the shoots is already on its way back from the clock.
Hier benutzt sie eine Luftwurzel, um sich an einem Bilderrahmen festzuklammern.
