Ich habe euch noch gar nicht erzählt, dass wir jetzt auch einen Bassisten haben oder habe ich? Das war der, der bei uns in der Nähe wohnt. Auch ein netter Oldie (72). Ich bin das Küken in der Gruppe mit nur 64 Jahren (noch bis Januar).

Wir haben bisher viermal zusammen gespielt. Jedes Mal ist eine Verbesserung zu verzeichnen, aber von öffentlichen Auftritten sind wir weit entfernt. Das hat meinen Mann dazu veranlasst, unsere Duo-Aktivitäten zu perfektionieren. Wir sind jetzt dabei, den Akkordteil aller unserer Lieder auf USB-stick zu spielen, damit wir bei Auftritten eine solide Grundlage haben, falls ich blackout bekomme (ich bin nicht so begeistert von öffentlichen Auftritten) … 😉 😀 … ich spiele dann live all die Schnörkel und vielleicht stellenweise, wo es angebracht ist, dieselben Akkorde mit noch mehr Instrumenten dazu (Streicher oder Trompete oder was da so passt, z. B. Pan-Flöte bei „Mighty Quinn“).
… We have played four times together now. Each time there is improvement to notice, but we are far away from public entertainment. That has stimulated my husband to perfect our duo activities. We have started to record the keyboard parts of our songs on a USB, so that we have a solid base for our gigs, in case I have a blackout (I am not so enthusiastic about playing in public) … 😉 😀 … I will play all the embellishments live and maybe in parts, wherever appropriate, the same chords with more instruments (violins, trumpets, whatever is suitable, like for example the pan flute in „Mighty Quinn“).
Das ist unsere bisherige playlist (als Duo). Mein Mann und ich spielen jetzt seit fast zwei Jahren zusammen. Es begann für mich alles mit dem „Folsom prison blues“ mit drei Akkorden (den wir dann wieder abgewählt haben wegen des makaberen Textes), dann kam „Halleluja“, wo doch tatsächlich manchmal zwei Akkorde in EINEM Takt waren … 😉 … und jetzt spielen wir schnelle und/oder komplizierte Sachen. Da hat sich wirklich viel getan, wenn man so zurückblickt. Mein Mann hat ja immer Musik gemacht. Als junger Mann spielte er Gitarre und hatte auch zeitweise eine Band. Später, als wir uns kennenlernten, spielte er Keyboard, dann Klavier und jetzt wieder Gitarre. Ich habe in meiner Jugend Blockflöte und Akkordeon gelernt, und Letzteres seit meinem 18. Lebensjahr nicht mehr gespielt.
… This is our playlist as a duo so far. My husband and I are playing together for almost two years now. For me it all started with the „Folsom prison blues“ with three chords (which we ditched again because of the grim text), then came „Halleluja“, where there happened to sometimes occur two chords in ONE bar… 😉 … and now we are playing fast and/or complicated stuff. A lot has happened since December 2017. My husband has always played music. When young, he played the guitar and had a band for a while. Later, when we met, he played keyboard, then piano and now guitar again. In my youth I have learned to play the recorder and the accordion. The latter I had not played since I was 18 years of age.
„Brand new Cadillac“ haben wir noch gar nicht gespielt, aber das ist nicht so schwer.

An „Strangers in the night“ knabbere ich noch herum, denn das sind richtig schwere Akkorde.
… „Strangers in the night“ is a real challenge though, the chords are rather demanding.
Mein Mann sagt, dass viele der weniger bekannten professionellen Musiker, die auf Marktplätzen und in Kneipen spielen, auf dem Keyboard immer C-Akkorde spielen, und dann transponieren sie einfach auf dem Keyboard in die richtige Tonart. Das will ich nicht, denn dann lerne ich nie alle die verschiedenen Akkorde. Das hält sowohl meine Finger als auch meine Gehirnzellen beweglich. 😉 Unsere Bluesstücke und die von den Beatles sind auch anspruchsvoll, was Akkorde angeht, aber „Strangers in the night“ ist für mich bisher die grösste Herausforderung. Ich habe sie so weit ganz gut „im Griff“, nur an dem transponierten Teil am Ende hapert es noch etwas.
… My husband says that a lot of the not so known professional musicians, who play on markets and in pubs, play their keyboard always in C chords, and then just transpose on the keyboard into the correct key. I don’t want to do that, because then I will never learn to play all the different chords. That keeps my fingers and my brain cells flexible. 😉 Our blues music and the Beatles‘ songs are also on a higher level as far as chords are concerned, but „Strangers in the night“ so far beats them all. I do have the chords „in hand“ so far, only the ones in the transposed part at the end still elude me somewhat.

… As you can see, music fills a lot of our time at the moment.
Im Garten muss ich noch ein wenig aufräumen, zwei Büsche umsetzen, und dann kann der Winter kommen. Ich hoffe, dass meine kleinen Chrysanthemen noch eine Chance zum Blühen bekommen und meine wilde Aster, die sehr spät blüht (weiss) und manchmal vom Frost überholt wird. Fotos vom Oktobergarten kommen in einem separaten Beitrag, da ist noch so Einiges passiert.
… I still have to tidy up in the garden a bit, move two shrubs, and then winter may come. I hope that my small chrysanthemums will be granted a chance to flower, as well as my wild asters, which flowers very late (white) and are sometimes overtaken by frost. I will show photos of the garden in October in a separate post; there has been development.
