Wer sich dafür interessiert, wie die Leute früher gelebt und gewohnt haben, sollte sich dieses grossartig angelegte Freilandmuseum mitten in Aarhus nicht entgehen lassen. Man hat dort eine Unmenge von Häusern verschiedener Herkunft und unterschiedlichen Alters zusammengesammelt und als Kleinstadt wieder aufgebaut. Dazu gehört z. B. eine alte Apotheke samt Heilkräutergarten, ein Bäcker, ein Krämerladen und vieles mehr.
… Those of you, who are interested in how people lived in olden times, should not miss to see the generously laid out Open-Air-Museum in the middle of Aarhus. Uncountable houses of different origin and age have been collected and were built up again there in the centre of Aarhus in the shape of a small town. There is for example an old pharmacy with a medicinal plants garden, a baker, a grocer’s shop and many more.
Am besten ist es, in den Sommerferien dorthin zu fahren, auch wenn dann viele Leute da sind, denn während der Zeit findet am meisten statt. Dann gehen Einheimische in Trachten umher und tun so, als ob sie dort wohnten. Man kann sich auch gerne mit ihnen fotografieren lassen. Diese Statisten sind alle ehrenamtlich tätig.

Die blauen Emaille-Kaffekannen oben links sind ganz typisch für Dänemark und immer noch sehr populär. In dieser Farbe gibt es eine ganze Menge Küchengegenstände. Auf Flohmärkten kann man die richtig alten Stücke erwerben, die sehr beliebte Sammlerobjekte sind, aber sie werden auch immer noch neu hergestellt. Diese hier im Laden sind neu. Dieser Stil heisst „Madame Blå“ (Madame Blau).

On flea markets one can buy the old pieces, which are much sought after collectors‘ items, but they are also still being produced. The ones in the shop are new.
