Hobro Hafen … Hobro harbour

Eigentlich wollten wir an dem Tag einen langen Spaziergang machen, aber es war so stürmisch und kalt, dass wir beschlossen nur etwas an der Hafenmole in Hobro (Mariager-Fjord) herumzulaufen.

… We had actually planned to go on a long walk that day, but it was so stormy and cold that we decided to just walk around a bit in the harbour of Hobro (Mariager fjord).

Auch hier war es stürmisch, aber wir gegen todesmutig auf den Aussichtsturm, um einen Rundblick über den Hafen und den Fjord zu fotografieren. Wir mussten die Kamera, sprich: das Handy, gut festhalten.

… here as well it was stormy, but defying death we went up the stairs to the viewpoint tower to take photos of the view on harbour and fjord. We had to really hold on to the camera, aka the mobile phone.

Auf den Turm kommt man auf einer langsam ansteigenden Rampe, die aus vielen, sehr niedrigen Stufen geformt wird. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass die Jugend des Ortes, hier mit Mountain-Bikes und Skateboards runterdonnert. 😉

… You get to the platform by a slowly rising ramp consisting of many very low steps. I could imagine that the youth of the place thunder down here on mountain bikes and skateboards.  😉

Von dort oben entdeckten wir „Valkyren“ (die Walküre) ein schönes Holzsegelschiff. Zwei Damen waren gerade dabei, das Schiff sommerklar zu machen und informierten uns, dass man Tagesausflüge buchen kann und drückten uns eine Broschüre in die Hand.

… From up there we discovered „Valkyren“ (the Valkyrie) a beautiful wooden sailing boat. Two ladies were busy with making the boat ready for summer. They informed us that one could book day trips on the boat and gave us a brochure.

Danach gingen wir auf geschlungenen Pfaden durch die kleine Werft (ich liebe solche Orte), wo in einer grossen Halle ein Holzschiffneubau zu finden war. Auf einem Schild konnte man lesen, dass dieses Projekt von königlichen Fonds unterstützt wird. Es sieht so aus, als ob das ein prachtvolles Schiff wird.

… Afterwards we continued on winding paths through the little dockyard (I love places like that), where in a large hall we found the beginning of a new wooden boat. We could read on a sign that this project was supported by royal funds. It looks like it will become a grand boat.

und dann die Vordertür kamen wir in den „feinen“ Teil des Jacht- und Fischereihafens.

… and then the front door, we came to the „posh“ part of the yacht and fishing harbour.

Da wir uns jetzt auf einmal im Windschatten befanden, gingen wir weiter am Fjord entlang und kamen zu einer ehemaligen Fabrik, in der jetzt Erwachsenenbildung stattfindet. Oben auf dem Dach hat man diverse Balkons angelegt. Von dort muss man eine tolle Aussicht haben (ähnlich wie vom Turm).

… As we all of a sudden were in lee, we continued to walk along the fjord and came to a former factory, in which now education for adults is taking place. On the roof several balconies have been constructed. One must have a great view from there (like from the tower).

Und solche kleinen Stellen sollte es immer geben. Ich war so angetan von diesem Fjordufer, weil ansonsten immer und überall Altes abgerissen und Neues, Stromlinienförmiges aufgebaut wird. Hier gab es noch urige Ecken.

… And small places like this should always exist. I was so taken with this fjord bank, because nowadays always and everywhere the old buildings are torn down and new, streamlined ones are being built. Here one could still find quaint little places.

Wir gingen noch ganz bis zum Kajakklub. Letztendlich war es dann doch nicht so ein ganz kleiner Spaziergang. Das tat uns gut. Vom Touristenbüro nahmen wir uns noch eine dicke Broschüre mit Fahrrad- und Wanderwegen am Mariager-Fjord entlang mit. Einer davon war der „fahrradfreundliche“ Weg, den wir schon versucht hatten zu fahren.

… We went all the way to the kayak club. In the end it wasn’t such a teensy weensy walk. It did us good. We took a thick brochure with us from the tourist office with bicycle and hiking paths along the Mariager fjord. One of them was the so called „bicycle friendly“ path, which we had tried out once.

Den krönenden Abschluss bildete ein schmackhaftes und gar nicht sehr teures Mittagessen im Cafe „K“ am zentralen Hafen. Vegetarier können dort gut etwas finden, Veganer weniger. Es ist eben doch vielfach Käse oder Mayonnaise im Essen. (Dies ist Dänemark mit der Devise „reichlich mit Butter, reichlich mit Käse“. Das ist ein Zitat von einem dänischen Fernsehkoch. 😉 )

… The grand finale consisted of a tasty and not very expensive lunch at Cafe „K“ at the central harbour. Vegetarians can easily find something, vegans less so. There is often cheese or mayonnaise in the food. (This is Denmark with its slogan „plenty of butter, plenty of cheese“. This is an expression of a Danish television cook. 😉 )

Das war rundherum ein sehr schöner Ausflug!
