Diese Rose wurde 2007 von David C. H. Austin (Grossbritannien) gezüchtet. Sie ist als Busch kategorisiert und gehört zu den neuen englischen Rosen (wie auch Glamis Castle), die im Aussehen den klassischen Rosen ähneln, aber mehrmals blühen. Ihre Knospen sind gross und rund.
… This rose was bred in 2007 by David C. H. Austin (Great Britain). It is categorized as a shrub and belongs to the group of new English roses (as also Glamis Castle), which look like classic roses, but flower repeatedly. Its buds are big and round.
Farbenmässig wird sie als “deep pink” einsortiert, aber unter tiefrosa stellt man sich vielleicht was anderes vor auf Deutsch? Die Blütenform ist klassisch, dicht mit Blütenblättern gefüllt, am Anfang ein wenig schalenförmig, wobei die äussersten Blütenblätter etwas heller sind als die anderen.

Sie duftet fantastisch kräftig mit einer starken Zitrusnote. Ich finde, dass sie wie die leckeren Zitronenbonbons aus meiner Kindheit riecht, so dass ich die Nase gar nicht wieder wegnehmen will.
… The rose has a phantastic and strong fragrance with a dominant citrus touch. I think they smell like the delicious lemon sweets from my childhood, so that I can’t take my nose away again.
“The Lady of Megginch” bildet einen grossen, kräftigen Busch (120 cm hoch und 90 cm breit wird angegeben, aber der letzte, den ich hatte, wurde also grösser). Die Rose ist ein richtiger Hingucker.
… “The Lady of Megginch” grows into a large, strong shrub (up to 47 inches high and 3 feet wide, it is said, but the last one I had was bigger than that). This rose really catches the eye.

Damit endet diese Serie erst einmal. Ich habe noch vier weitere Rosen, von denen zwei dieses Jahr nicht geblüht haben, aber ansonsten gesund aussehen, und zwei, die ziemlich vor sich hin mickern und vielleicht nicht überleben. Für den Herbst werde ich meine lange Liste durchgehen von all den Rosen, die ich jemals gehabt habe und euch die besten davon vorstellen.

I have four roses more, of which two haven’t flowered this year, but look healthy otherwise, and two, which look a bit pitiful and might not survive the winter.
